However, 2024 has brought with it a completely rejuvenated Old Trafford squad. The Dutchman’s players are yet to lose a game this year and have won four in a row since the second half of the season kicked off.
After a long and arduous time at the helm during his second season, Erik ten Hag has finally figured it out. However, a lot of his team’s good form can be credited to the fact that his best players have finally returned from injury.
Let’s take a look at what Tom Cairney had to say about the Red Devils (h/t The Players Channel)
“I want Man United to be a top team”
“I am enjoying watching them again. I thought they were good against Villa. I just feel like going forward they are a threat and it’s nice to see,”
He also went on to say that it’s nice to see Manchester United playing well even if their highest goalscorer is a midfielder. While on the subject the Fulham skipper also showed appreciation for the stellar form of Scott McTominay.
The Scottish midfielder has been pivotal to United’s success. The team wouldn’t even be contesting for the top four if it wasn’t for the header McTominay scored against Aston Villa.
Another positive through Manchester United’s winning form has been Rasmus Hojlund. The Danish striker has been in fine form and has recorded seven goal contributions in his last five games.
