Manchester United’s super-sub Scott McTominay has set the bar for the rest of the Red Devils
Manchester United will be very happy that they didn’t sell Scott McTominay during the summer. The 27-year-old has emerged as a super-sub for Erik ten Hag’s squad this season.
Everyone has come to know that McTominay can be counted on in clutch situations. However, new stats from Squawka show that the Scottish midfielder is perhaps the most clutch player in the league.
Thanks to his recent performances, 27-year-old McTominay now stands alone as the player with the most goals as a sub at four and the most goals after the 85th minute with three scored in the Premier League.
Moreover, despite the rich vein of form that Rasmus Hojlund has been enjoying in the Premier League lately, McTominay is still the team’s leading scorer in the competition with seven goals scored.
If Man United end up in the Champions League next season, all thanks should be directed towards Erik ten Hag’s super-sub, Scott McTominay.
He gets a lot of slander from the media for his poor form of defence. However, he more than makes up for it with his excellent performance on the offensive end. The media would do better if they blamed the defensive line for their constant failures instead of a midfielder who barely plays thirty minutes a game.
During last night’s game when Marcus Rashford was having trouble finding the back of the net. Erik ten Hag counted on McTominay’s versatility and deployed him in place of the Manchester-born superstar.

As always Scott delivered, and the critics will have no complaints for now. If his stellar form continues we might even see the Dutchman bump McTominay up the pecking order to the starting XI.
