Harry Maguire is still not impressed with his teammates at Manchester United. The 30-year-old believes there is still a lot of work to be done before the Red Devils are back where they belong.

Erik ten Hag and his lads have hit the ground running during the second half of the season. They are yet to lose a game in 2024 and have made good progress towards their long-term goals this season.

They have advanced to the fifth round of the FA Cup and are now in a position to compete for a top-four spot in the Premier League. This begs us to ask what it is that Harry Maguire still wants the team to improve upon.

Rasmus Hojlund has come to life at Manchester United making seven goal contributions in his last five games.

While talking to BBC, Harry Maguire shed light on how the team struggles to defend against set-plays and crosses. This weakness has been exposed time and time again by their Premier League rivals.

“Our main problems came from set-plays and corners and crosses so it is something we need to work on. When we conceded we showed great spirit and fight to stick with it at a place like this that was rocking.”

“You relish playing when you win. They are a good team and have shown it at Villa Park. It was relentless in the second half and we know we have players on the bench that can come on and win football matches for us.”

Douglas Luiz was lucky enough to find himself on the end of a cross and equalised the score last night.

Moreover, even Newport County ended up surprising Man United during the second half of their FA Cup matchup. The Championship team snuck in a low cross during the second half of the game to tie the game at 2-2.

United may have won the game against Newport but this puts into perspective just how weak the team is against crosses and players cutting in from the flanks.
