Erik ten Hag had some high praise for Scott McTominay following Manchester United’s win against Aston Villa.
Erik ten Hag seems to be pleased with his Scottish midfielder, Scott McTominay. While taking to BBC, The Dutchman said that he believes 27-year-old McTominay deserves all the credit for Manchester United’s win against Aston Villa.
The midfielder has surely been a positive sight for the Red Devils this season. He was key during their game against Wolves as well and found himself on the score sheet despite playing just 17 minutes.
Before Rasmus Hojlund, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho found their footing and started to produce, it was actually McTominay who was leading United in goals during the first half of the season.
The Scotland national is as clutch as they come and it is not a stretch to say that Erik ten Hag might’ve lost his job if it wasn’t for the stellar performances that McTominay has put on this season.
In his last three games, he has recorded three goal contributions for United. If the Red Devils end up making something out of their disastrous campaign it’ll be due to the stellar performances of players like the Scott.
For the first time in a very long time, Man United’s goal difference is not negative. Moreover, the team finally has their long-term goal in sight.
