Manchester United leave out impressive trio from PL squad list

Manchester United have submitted their squad list for the remainder of the Premier League season and it has three notable absences – Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo. Manchester Evening News have explained why.

Calma Man United fans. The aforementioned trio are still eligible to represent the Red Devils for the rest of the season. The fact that they are under the age of 21 means that they don’t need to be officially registered in the squad list.

In what has been a very disappointing season for the Red Devils so far, Kobbie Mainoo has been the beacon of hope. The academy graduate, despite suffering a serious injury in pre-season, has made a successful return and is now almost undroppable from the starting XI.

Next up, let’s talk about Alejandro Garnacho. The young winger did not start of the season on the best of notes. Despite being trusted with a starting role, he could not shine and was struggling to showcase the kind of form he showed last season.

Things changed after his outrageous overhead kick against Everton in the Premier League. Erik ten Hag also made a slight tweak in tactics shifting him over to the right wing to compensate for Antony’s poor form.

What do we say about Rasmus Hojlund? The Danish striker could not score to save his life in the first half of the season. He is now in a run of form where he cannot stop scoring. Things have started looking better for the club ever since the Dane started scoring.

All three names have been the most in-form players for Erik ten Hag in recent weeks. Their registration status will have absolutely no effect on their involvement for the club for the rest of the season.

If the Red Devils are to have a more impressive second half to the season, Erik ten Hag will be hoping that his players keep up the form that they have been showing in recent weeks. Most important to the cause will be the form of Hojlund.

Right now, it’s time to move on from the registration issues and start focussing on the game on the pitch. Let’s wait and see how this talented trio perform for the rest of the season.
