Manchester United might not have their English star back in time for the game against Aston Villa
Manchester United will be missing their English star for their clash against Aston Villa. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is still doubtful for Sunday’s matchup. A lot of people were expecting him to return but that might not be the case anymore.
However, Mason Mount could be making his return which is huge for the Red Devils. The Dutchman’s men don’t have a creative bone in their body. Apart from Bruno Fernandes and the ocassional good pass from Casemiro, no one else creates enough chances through the middle.
This is where Mount comes in. His skill on the ball, excellent touch along with his vision will provide a great boon to the United middle line.
While it would’ve been nice to have Wan-Bissaka back as well, people seem to overestimate his impact on the game. Moreover, Diogo Dalot is still first choice at Right-back and often does a better job than Aaron.
So the only thing that Manchester United will be lacking against Aston Villa is depth. Lisandro Martinez will not be there to elevate the defensive line, there are no options to replace Hojlund up front and Ten Hag can’t rest Kobbie Mainoo either.
Depth is lacking but Tottenham Hotspur had it worse during the first half of the season. Hopefully, Erik ten Hag will be able to produce the same results that Ange Postecoglou did with a squad that was far more depleted than the Dutchman’s.
