Newport County employee was in shock with Manchester United FA Cup draw

Manchester United will be facing Newport County in the fourth round of the FA Cup. It is not very often that a League Two club gets to go up against Premier League giants like the Red Devils.

Fans of both clubs have been anxiously looking forward to the fixture. While the Old Trafford squad are favourites to win, fans still haven’t been able to shake off their feelings of uneasiness. This can be credited to the team’s inconsistent performances this season.

However, Newport on the other hand has been in a blaze. People are excited and lining up for hours to get tickets for the game. This game feels like a festival for the League Two club.

Here’s what a Newport County employee had to say about the entire situation (h\t BBC)

“When I was told it was Manchester United I didn’t believe it, I thought somebody was winding me up,”

She went on to say that this has been an exceptionally busy week for the team and staff alike. Moreover, she stated that the environment around the team was electric which is good news for the fans.

Hopefully, Manchester United will not make the mistake of underestimating Newport County. This is the team’s last hope of a trophy this season and they cannot afford to slip up.
