Manchester United are ready to let go of former La Liga star midfielder as the team tries to ‘cut their losses’
According to the Daily Star (h/t ESPN), Manchester United are ready to let go of former La Liga star Carlos Casemiro, as the team tries to ‘cut their losses’. The 31-year-old could end up being cut at the end of the season.
Erik ten Hag has always been highly appreciative of Casemiro, and he has every reason to be. During the Dutchman’s first season at Manchester United, the Brazilian midfielder was probably the best player on his team.
As a result, the team finished third in the League and even won the Carabao Cup. However, Casemiro has missed a big part of this season due to an injury, and the team has suffered because of it.
From the looks of it Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS will try and negotiate with Casemiro, the new owners reportedly want to buy the midfielder out of his contract.
While they could try to sell him, there aren’t a lot of teams that will pay good money for an injury-ridden 31-year-old midfielder. Moreover, if they fail to sell him the team will have to continue paying him his ridiculous wages.
It is believed that the Red Devils will have to pull out £20m to get rid of the Brazilian. The former La Liga star’s time at Manchester United seems to be coming to an end.
