Cristiano Ronaldo still has a soft spot for Manchester United indicates his Man City claim
Cristiano Ronaldo’s saga at Manchester United is legendary, but the way his tale came to an end led many to believe that he probably doesn’t care about the club anymore. However, his recent claim about Man City says otherwise.
Even at the age of 38 Ronaldo is still going strong over in Saudi, this season alone he has recorded 24 goals and 11 assists in just 25 appearances. World-class numbers for a world-class player.
Ronaldo’s second stint at Manchester United came to an end after the club terminated his contract. While such treatment of a legend is surely unacceptable, it doesn’t look like these events have affected his love for the team.
Let’s have a look at what Ronaldo had to say while predicting the Premier League winner this season. (h\t talkSPORT)
“I think Manchester City has a great chance of winning the Champions League again this season.
“I hope not, but I think they have a chance.”
His saying I hope not surely put a smile on the face of a lot of Manchester United fans. However, despite his saying that Man City still has a very strong chance of lifting the Premier League title this season.
Liverpool are currently on top of the table, but they are only two points ahead of the Blues who are in second with 43 points. One slip up and Pep Guardiola’s team will run away with the Premier League title.
Hopefully, Cristiano’s love and respect for the club will go on to motivate the players who are still donning the Manchester United red.
