Manchester United star picks Erling Haaland of Man City for the 2023 FIFA The Best Men’s Player award
Manchester United star and captain of the Brazil national team, Casemiro picked Manchester City rival Erling Haaland for the 2023 FIFA The Best Men’s Player award.
The final result for the award came down to the wire. Kylian Mbappe finished third with 35 points, Erling Haaland finished second with 48 points and was tied with award winner Lionel Messi who also had 48 points.
However, the Argentine striker had more ‘five-point’ votes so he took the award home for the second time in a row.
Carlos Casemiro will surely be disappointed by the result since he picked Haaland to take the award home. This goes to show just how good of a player the Norwegian striker really is.
Despite the bitter rivalry between the two clubs Casemiro still opted to vote for Haaland because his talent is undeniable but the same could be said for Argentina legend Lionel Messi.
However, Haaland will probably not be too shaken up by his loss. At just 23, the Norwegian striker has already racked up 24 trophies for himself, won at both individual and collective levels.
