Roy Keane urges INEOS to deny Ten Hag key Manchester United responsibility

Roy Keane is not happy about INEOS letting Ten Hag call the shots at Manchester United

According to ESPN, Manchester United chief Erik Ten Hag would like to call the shots regarding recruitment even after the new INEOS ownership has laid some groundwork for the summer.

Roy Keane however has urged the new owners to take that power away from the Dutchman. He has not been too impressed with the coach’s recent signings.

Ten Hag brought in both Mason Mount and Antony as his big signings. These players were supposed to help turn the team around, but haven’t had any impact whatsoever since their arrival.

Speaking on The Overlap via Youtube Keane had this to say about the Manchester United situation.

“I’ve been a manager and bought players – I bought some decent ones, but I look back and think, ‘what was I thinking with some?.”

While Keane agreed that the manager should have the final say, he did not agree that the manager should be the only one calling the shots. Gary Neville seemed to agree and said the managers should not be spending all that money on players since they’re only there for a limited amount of time.

But, we would like to argue that the players will inevitably have to play according to the manager. Therefore, he should be the one to sign the players since he has a better grasp of what to expect from them.

While Ten Hag might’ve failed with Antony and Mason Mount he has been on the mark with signings like Casemiro and Raphael Varane. He knows how to get the most out of his system and the signings should be left up to the Dutchman.
