Manchester United will give up Facundo Pellistri if it can get them closer to Morten Hjulmand

As reported by The Sun, Manchester United are ready to give up Facundo Pellistri if it can get them closer to £69m rated midfield general, Morten Hjulmand. The 24-year-old has been impressive for Portuguese side Sporting CP.

The team has already tried a swap deal using Pellistri but Sporting are waiting for the Red Devils to trigger Hjulmand’s £69m release clause. The Old Trafford squad could lure the player using Christian Eriksen who has been a mentor to the player.

The Danish midfielder has made 24 appearances for the team this season and has scored once while grabbing two assists. He is at his best when deployed as a defensive midfielder.

It doesn’t come as a surprise that Erik Ten Hag’s middle line has been going through the motions lately. Casemiro has not been available and has been a non-factor. The same could be said for Mason Mount.

Putting Hjulmand on the team will go a long way towards strengthening both Ten Hag’s middle line and defensive line. The 24-year-old excels when serving as a buffer between the two.

A deal for the Danish midfielder is likely to go through in January. However, we can count on the Old Trafford squad to go all out for the player this summer.
