Manchester United should be going behind former Real Madrid superstar says pundit
While speaking to BettingOdds.com, Louis Saha urged Manchester United to go after former Real Madrid superstar, Karim Benzema. The 36-year-old is currently playing in Saudi Arabia.
During his time with Los Blancos, the Frenchman was always somewhat underappreciated. But, that will happen to most who play under the shadow of a legend like Cristiano Ronaldo.
Post Ronaldo’s departure, Benzema finally came into being and even went on to win the Ballon d’Or in 2022. During that season he made 46 appearances for Real Madrid and recorded 44 goals along with 15 assists (Transfermarkt).
He has been in fine form for Saudi Al-Ittihad as well, over 20 appearances for the team he has recorded 12 goals and five assists for the team (transfermarkt). He has also reportedly been unhappy playing in Saudi.
Let’s have a look at what Louis Saha had to say about the entire ordeal. (h\t BettingOdds.com)
“Of course, he will shake up the United frontline and that’s what they need.”
Saha then went on to say that Benzema will even have a positive impact on Man United’s young striker Rasmus Hojlund. The Danish striker could indeed learn a lot from the Frenchman.
It is also true that Manchester United’s attack needs some serious help at the moment. However, is signing a 36-year-old really the best option for the team right now?
