Huge blow for Manchester United as star Frenchman wants Arsenal transfer instead

Crystal Palace star Michael Olise prefers his “boyhood club” Arsenal over Manchester United

Manchester United target and Crystal Palace star Michael Olise prefers a move to his “boyhood club” Arsenal. The Reds Devils want Olise to be one of the first big signing under Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s era.

Ratcliffe, chairman of INEOS, successfully acquired 25% of United’s stake and now controls football-related decisions at the club. The Red Devils cannot make significant transfer activities without consulting Ineos and the British billionaire.

The Red Devils are currently lying at the eighth position in the Premier League table, having lost nine matches. Their abysmal season is down to a lack of cohesiveness and consistency within the senior team squad.

United have shown vulnerabilities in both the offensive and defensive phases of the play, looking disjointed and too individualistic. Many senior team players are completely out of form and lack the desire to contribute in the open play.

Antony, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have failed to contribute a decent amount of goals and assists for United. United have scored 22 goals in the Premier League so far, only Sheffield United and Burnley have scored fewer goals.

United manager Erik ten Hag signed Rasmus Hojlund during the summer transfer window after last season’s struggle with goals. Last season, the club relied heavily on Rashford who enjoyed a very productive form but failed to repeat that.

Hojlund has only scored one goal in the Premier League so far despite receiving praise for his overall performances. The 20-year-old has good link-ups and movements of a goal poacher but he has not received much support in deliveries.

Football Transfer (h/t Manchester Evening News) reported that United target Olise prefers Arsenal over the Manchester club. The Red Devils want Olise to boost their attacking department and aid Hojlund with his creativity.

The 22-year-old has the technical prowess alongside dribbling and pace to beat any opposition defender. Olise is unpredictable from the flank, capable of cutting inside or going down the byline to create threats.

The France U21 has ample amount of Premier League experience with Palace and versatile enough to play in multiple positions. Olise can be a fantastic acquisition for United and exactly the kind of player they need to help other players.

Palace managed to keep hold of Olise despite keen interest from Chelsea during the summer transfer window. A club of United’s stature should be able to lure the 22-year-old despite his club preferences.
