Marcus Rashford sends out a message to the fans as the curtain falls on Manchester United’s disappointing 2023
Both Marcus Rashford and his team Manchester United were subject to a lot of disappointment in 2023. They started the year strong by finishing 3rd on the Premier League table and winning the Carabao Cup.
Ten Hag’s first season ended with the team being back in Europe. But, it all changed at the start of his second season with the team. Their form from the Dutchman’s maiden campaign was nowhere to be found this time around.
The team had a disastrous run in the Champions League. They were also kicked out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of Newcastle United. Moreover, they have already lost 14 games throughout all competitions.
“Disappointing end to 2023 with a defeat. Much work to do in 2024.Happy New Year.”
These were the words that Rashford chose to wish the fans with. After having an awkward start to the season, the 26-year-old is now showing signs of revival just as we get closer to the second half of the season.
Throughout 24 appearances this season, Rashford has recorded three goals and five assists for Manchester United (Transfermarkt). These numbers are a little underwhelming but could end up looking very different by the end of the season.
He finally ended his month-long goal drought during Manchester United’s last game of the season. Although the team lost the fans were happy about Rashford finally finding the back of the net.

But, after the kind of season they’ve been happening the Red Devils will come out and try to get as many points as they can during the second half of the season. Manchester United cannot afford any more failures if they hope for a top 4 finish.
