Manchester United have been given a price tag of €150m by Benfica for 3-cap Portugal international

As reported by Portuguese publication O Jogo, Manchester United have been looking to bring in Joao Neves from S.L. Benfica. The club has reportedly set an asking price of €150m on the 3-cap Portugal international.

The Red Devils have faced no shortage of creative difficulties this season. The team has been unable to create any sort of attack from the looks of it. Moreover, the chances that they do get at goal more often than not end up being bad touches by the other team.

While the media has made it their job to rip into Erik Ten Hag’s attacking line, we need to remember that the attack can’t do anything if the ball never ends up reaching them in the first place.

Adding 19-year-old Joao Neves to the fray can result in a lot of good things for the Old Trafford squad. He will add some much-needed defensive prowess to the middle line along with his excellent passing ability.

It is a scary thought to imagine a Manchester United midfield filled with youngsters like Neves and Kobbie Mainoo. Both of them are excellent players at such young ages, just think about how good they can grow to be.

Although, a €150m price tag sounds unreasonable the Portuguese international might just have the skills to justify it. Manchester United will have to move quickly if they wish to sign the player as other big clubs are also looking to snatch him for themselves.

The club has some big decisions to make before they can even think about signing Neves. Before Manchester United pay a €150m for the young player they will first have to make that money by selling some of their own.

If the Red Devils are truly serious about singing the 19-year-old then fans can expect a big January ahead of them.
