Manchester United are willing to outbid Juventus to secure the signing of Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra
Manchester United are ready to outspend Serie A giants Juventus to secure the transfer of Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has recently secured the 25% shares at United and wants to invest significantly in the squad rebuild.
United have suffered a nightmare season, losing 13 games in all competitions and showing vulnerabilities in all areas. The Red Devils have already crashed out of the Carabao Cup and the Champions League this season.
Due to their fourth-place finish in Champions League Group A, United are completely out of the European competitions. United are fighting to secure a top-four place in the Premier League to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
The Red Devils have struggled to maintain dominance and balance in the midfield this season. New midfield signings Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat have failed to live up to the expectations at Old Trafford.
Furthermore, Casemiro has struggled to keep up with the pace and intensity of the Premier League. Scott McTominay has enjoyed a prolific form in front of goal but faced criticism for his contribution in the midfield. Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen has delivered but he is an injury concern and lacks the energy that United’s midfield needs.
Spanish publication Marca reported that United are willing to put an over much higher than Juventus to secure Guerra’s deal. According to the reports, the Red Devils are willing to pay €40m to secure Valencia’s “boy wonder”.
Guerra started the season in a prolific goal-scoring form and so far has contributed with three goals and an assist. The 20-year-old has been a regular starter for Valencia, notching up 18 appearances in all competitions.
Guerra has missed the past two games after receiving a red card in the 88th minute against Getafe. The Spanish U21 stands at 1.87 metres, physically and athletically built to hold his own in aerial and ground duels.
