Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could soon be reunited with ex-Red Devils defender
Who doesn’t remember Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s stint as the Manchester United chief? Well if you don’t, we’ll tell you the tale of how Ole Gunnar went from being a Manchester United legend to being sacked by the Old Trafford hierarchy.
The Norwegian striker was one of the best Premier League forwards during his time as a player. He made a total of 336 appearances for Manchester United and recorded 126 goals and 54 assists for the team (Transfermarkt).
Soon after his retirement, Ole Gunnar was hired as the Manchester United chief. These events unfolded shortly after Jose Mourinho was axed as the Red Devils’ coach.
Much like Mourinho, Solskjaer couldn’t handle the Manchester United crown either. After a string of bad performances, Gunnar was also eventually sacked as the club’s manager.
Now after spending years on the sidelines, the Manchester United legend is finally making a comeback. According to Mirror, Turkish giants Besiktas is looking to bring in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to coach the team.
A move to the Turkish club will also reunite him with ex-Manchester United defender Eric Bailly. It was much too early for Solskjaer to take the reigns of the Old Trafford team. But, his stint with Besiktas should go differently.
