Manchester United star Andre Onana has been warned about the risks of participating in this year’s AFCON
Former Manchester United midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba has asked Andre Onana to carefully consider his position before he opts to go for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper will have to take an extended leave from the squad if he chooses to go. He could be gone for a month depending on how far Cameroon go in the tournament.
Onana currently has six clean sheets in the Premier League. His absence will surely come as a blow to Manchester United who are already in pretty bad shape.

“He knows if he goes, maybe he will lose his place at Manchester United. He has to decide what is best for him. He just needs to do what is best for his career.”
If Andre Onana ends up going and the team gets hurt because of it he will get a lot of flak from the fans. Moreover, Djemba believes that the player could also risk losing his spot in the starting XI.
His image has already taken enough blows after some high-profile mistakes in the UCL. These mistakes are what ultimately led to Manchester United’s untimely exit from the Champions League.
Manchester United fans have just now begun to warm up to Onana. His stellar performance against Liverpool has helped him get them back on his side.
