Manchester United midfielder is 99.9% close to leaving the club as Erik ten Hag commits a ‘mortal sin’
Erik ten Hag has been unable to station the squad of his choice at Manchester United. This is mainly due to the team’s ongoing struggle with injuries and suspensions.
Some are unhappy with their playing time under the Dutchman. Donny van de Beek is a part of that list. The 26-year-old midfielder is now set to leave the club next month to join Eintracht Frankfurt on a loan deal.
Fabrizio Romano reported that Frankfurt will have the option to make the deal permanent for a sum of €15m. Though whether or not they buy him will depend on his performance.
The hype surrounding Van de Beek was at its highest during his tenure at Ajax. Interestingly enough, the player only rose to prominence while Ten Hag was at the helm of Ajax.
After the midfielder completed a move to Manchester United, Ten Hag complained that he was not getting enough playing time at the club. He described the act as a ‘mortal sin’.
Once Erik Ten Hag took the reigns of Manchester United fans expected the Dutch midfielder to get more playing time.
However, the Manchester United coach committed the same ‘mortal sin’ as the 26-year-old has only played 21 minutes for the Old Trafford squad this season.
Now, a change of scenery is on the horizon for Donny van de Beek. Hopefully, the Manchester United midfielder will get an ample amount of playing time at Frankfurt.
