Arsenal legend Thierry Henry revealed the real cause behind Manchester United’s failed attempt at European glory. The legendary striker believes that Ten Hag’s problems lie with their defence.
While the more concerning issue has been the Red Devils’ attacking line, their poor defence is what led to them losing out against the likes of Copenhagen and Galatasaray.
Henry put more emphasis on the problem while on the panel for CBS Sport. Let’s have a look at what he had to say about the whole debacle.
Thierry Henry was flabbergasted at the fact that Manchester United had the same number of goals as Bayern Munich. The only positive to come out of this is the emergence of Rasmus Hojlund.
Another interesting fact was brought to light by the panellists. Manchester United have now become the only Premier League team to concede 15 goals during a Champions League group stage.
While fans largely believe that Manchester United have done well on the defensive side this stat clearly shows otherwise. In the games that Ten Hag’s attack has done well, it is the defence that has led him down.
There isn’t a lot to say about what happens when their attacking line fails to perform.
