Manchester United and Newcastle in battle for the Stuttgart striker Sehrou Guirassy

According to French media outlet Foot Mercato (h/t Shields Gazette), Manchester United and Newcastle United are vying for Stuttgart striker Sehrou Guirassy.

Guirassy’s appeal is clear, given his impressive goal-scoring record and surprisingly low transfer fee. Reports suggest he could be available for around 20 million euros.

Since his permanent move to Stuttgart this summer, the Guinean forward has been in top form, scoring 17 goals in 12 Bundesliga matches, a remarkable achievement in the league.

In their recent match against Manchester United, Newcastle United continued to struggle with referee decisions but still managed a win. The victory was bittersweet, as goalkeeper Nick Pope sustained a serious shoulder injury, adding to the team’s injury woes, which already included key striker Callum Wilson.

With both Wilson and Alexander Isak sidelined during the match, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is considering Guirassy as a potential addition to bolster the squad’s attacking options. This move could also enhance the team’s depth, a crucial factor given Newcastle’s involvement in multiple competitions. Guirassy’s versatility on the pitch would be a significant asset.

With Manchester United’s Champions League campaign nearing its end for the season, the focus shifts to the domestic league. The team currently sits in seventh place in the Premier League following their loss to Newcastle last Saturday. Newcastle’s victory propelled them ahead of United in the league standings.

Guirassy, who has a release clause of £15 million set for January, may prove difficult for Stuttgart to retain. Ultimately, the striker will have to choose between interested clubs, including Manchester United and Newcastle United. We hope he opts for our side.
