Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho did the “calma” celebration

According to a tweet by TNT Sports, Manchester United’s young talent Alejandro Garnacho celebrated his first goal in United’s crucial match by emulating Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic “calma” celebration. The impressive goal scored with his weaker foot, brought momentary excitement to the fans.

This gesture appeared to be a clear homage to Ronaldo’s ‘calma calma’ celebration, famously performed by the legendary Manchester United player during his tenure at Real Madrid after scoring against Barcelona at Camp Nou.

Garnacho, only 19, scored another stunning goal in Istanbul, giving United an early 1-0 lead within the first 11 minutes. His left-footed strike, assisted by Bruno Fernandes, sailed past goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.

This was the second time in four days that Garnacho replicated his idol’s celebration, having done the same against Everton on Sunday. His goal at Goodison Park was equally remarkable, a powerful overhead kick that found the top corner of Jordan Pickford’s net.

After that opening goal, Garnacho celebrated with Ronaldo’s famous ‘Siuuu’ gesture, surrounded by his amazed teammates. While his Istanbul performance might not have been as dynamic, it was certainly pivotal.

The atmosphere at Rams Park was charged, with the crowd expressing their disapproval of United’s possession. Yet, Garnacho’s goal temporarily silenced them. He cheekily taunted the home supporters before recreating Ronaldo’s iconic celebration.

The taunts, however, did not sit well with the home fans, who responded by throwing objects at the celebrating United players. Galatasaray goalkeeper Muslera was among several players who confronted Garnacho after the celebration.
