According to the Spanish outlet Fichajes, Manchester United are keen to compete with Real Madrid for the services of prodigious Brazilian starlet Estavao Willian, better known as Messinho. The Palmeiras talent is well known for his admiration for Lionel Messi and his impressive performances have caught the attention of top European clubs.

While the Red Devils are interested, a deal for the 16-year-old will not be easy. However, despite Real Madrid also throwing their name in the ring, the Red Devils are willing to fork out €90m to secure the youngster. If anything, it also is an indication of the club’s willingness to splash out for a top-tier talent.

Erik ten Hag seems to recognise Messinho’s immense potential and has reportedly requested a substantial financial investment from Old Trafford to secure his signing. This move would undoubtedly secure one of the most promising talents in world football, marking the beginning of a much-needed rebuilding phase for the team in the years to come.

Messinho has truly showcased his talents at the Under-17 World Cup in Indonesia, leaving spectators in awe with three goals and four assists in four matches for Brazil. This impressive display has only further piqued the curiosity surrounding his future.

Securing a deal for Messinho is far from straightforward, despite the mounting interest. He has openly stated his aspiration to join Barcelona, aiming to emulate Messi’s success at the Nou Camp. Willian’s immense potential has been widely acknowledged, evident in his sponsorship deal with Nike at the tender age of 10, even before making his senior debut for Palmeiras.

As a result of the regulations in Brazil, Messinho is unable to make a move abroad until he reaches the age of 18. Nevertheless, a pre-agreement can be arranged for a transfer once they come of age, a tactic Real Madrid utilised with Endrick, another promising player from Palmeiras.
