Manchester United among clubs monitoring PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe

Manchester United may have a 1001 problems on their plate at the moment but being linked to the top players in the world doesn’t seem to be one, as the English club now find themselves linked with a move for PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe.

To attract talent like Mbappe, United need to be one of the best clubs in the world. If not, they at least need to be the best club in their league. Right now, the sad truth is that we might not even be the best club in Manchester.

With so many things to correct within the team right now, the last thing we must be thinking of is signing someone like Mbapppe. The French star might laugh us off if we made an offer for him today as things stand.

Make no mistake, United are a very historic club. The Red Devils might have the pulling power when it comes to players to an extent but we must remember that there is only so far that history can take us and the sporting project needs to be on point.

Unfortunately, it is not clear if Man United even have a sporting project. Their decision-making has been very poor ever since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club. United are yet to have one outstanding season since the legendary manager left.

Even this season, the performances have been extremely poor. They have won a few games but even those have not really been convincing with the game requiring late goals to seal the deal. This is not the Manchester United we know.

According to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are monitoring the situation of French World Cup winner but they are not the only club interested in him. However, we must steer clear of this interest.

It would be better if we looked at more realistic targets. Kylian Mbappe is not one but we do need attacking reinforcements. Rasmus Hojlund is talented but we need someone who is capable of providing competition to the Dane.
