Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund says he had problem with other strikers when he joined
Speaking in an interview as quoted by the Express, Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund acknowledges that he had “issues” coordinating with the other forwards in the club when he first joined.
After making a big-money transfer from Atalanta over the summer, Hojlund is settling in with the Red Devils but is having difficulty scoring goals.
The 21-year-old, who has lined up next to fellow forwards Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho this season, acknowledges that it has taken him some time to get used to playing with them.
Speaking to The United Stand (h/t Express), Hojlund said:
“We had a few problems here in the beginning. But I think we slowly get the connections now we have everybody back, Antony is now back as well and we start to link the play together now.”
Three goals in three Champions League games is a respectable performance, but in six Premier League games—five of which have been starts—the Dane has not scored. The 20-year-old is adjusting to life with the Red Devils after completing a big-money move from Atalanta over the summer.
In addition to his goal-scoring abilities, Hojlund possesses outstanding positioning, hold-up play, and—possibly most importantly—interlinking passing.
United are presently ranked eighth in the Premier League table and have a negative goal differential. This season, we have struggled with imbalance and fragility in a number of areas. Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, two of United’s strikers, have not shown much this season.
Additionally, it seems that neither the management nor the supporters have been impressed by young players Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Pellistri to start regular games. Antony, Ten Hag’s acquisition from the previous season, hasn’t yet lived up to the hype or his asking price.

The 20-year-old adds to overall gameplay and facilitates connections with teammates, so he’s more than simply your average poacher. Hojlund exerts tremendous pressure on the opposition’s defence off the ball due to his high work rate. The Danish international is already well-established as a key player in his country’s senior squad.
