Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag believes Harry Maguire is improving as time is passing
Speaking to the official club media, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag believes that Harry Maguire is improving a lot and he can even be a better player than he is right now. Looking at the positivity with which Maguire is buzzing right now, we can only hope that he keeps this consistency.
With Jordan Larsson’s stoppage-time penalty saved by Andre Onana, Harry Maguire’s header at Old Trafford secured the victory for the Reds, who have now won three straight games.
Ten Hag after the game said:
“I think so, he is playing more proactive in possession. Stepping in, passing vertical, defending on the front foot and also stepping in, passing vertical.
“Defending on the front foot, he is also stepping in and playing forward. Very confident in the duels, I think he is dominating.
“Also in the right moments, he is showing his aggression against the opponents. Then, you see he is also rewarded because of his heading.
“I have to say it is a great pass from Christian [Eriksen], but it was a great finish.”
After losing his captaincy and being given the opportunity to consider joining West Ham in the summer, the England centre-half’s time at Old Trafford looked to be coming to an end, but he never wavered in his resolve to win back Ten Hag’s favour.
Never before have Manchester United managed to string three wins in a row so convincingly, as they have done on either side of the international break.
The Premier League’s bottom team, Sheffield United, were defeated by a full-back goal in the 77th minute from Diogo Dalot. Things are looking upwards for the Red side of Manchester for a change.
Maguire has been the subject of several accusations, and with his splendid performances, he is trying to redeem himself and prove his haters wrong.

Even with a hat-trick of extremely dubious performances coming up before the derby on Sunday, Manchester United as a whole still manages to move into the top half of the Premier League table and belatedly begin their Champions League campaign. Perhaps this will be the tipping point that tilts the scales in our favour.
