Manchester United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat shared his gratitude towards the Old Trafford crowd for inspiring the team towards the victory.

The Red Devils defeated Brentford 2-1 at Old Trafford during the Premier League game on Saturday. Scott McTominay scored two extra-time goals to complete the dramatic comeback for the hosts.

Old Trafford fans played a pivotal role in the United’s victory as they kept asking their players to push forward. Fans relished United’s sweet salute to the days when they snatched late victories under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Amrabat used the social media platform, Instagram, to pay tribute to the United fanbase for their role in the victory. He said:

“Well deserved win! Old Trafford you were amazing!”

The Bees took the surprising lead in the 26th minute through Mathias Jensen’s goal after a series of mistakes. Casemiro played a poor pass that triggered a four-on-four situation against United and ended with a howler from Andre Onana.

McTominay’s heroics saved United from their third consecutive defeat at Old Trafford which would’ve added to their miserable season.

United are currently lying in the 10th position in the Premier League table after eight games. The Red Devils have also suffered a back-to-back defeat in their opening two Champions League fixtures.

The Red Devils signed Amrabat on a season-long loan from Serie A side Fiorentina. The combative midfielder played his previous games as a make-shift left-back but returned to his natural position at midfield.

The Bees substituted the Moroccan international for the eventual goalscoring hero, McTominay, due to his poor outing. United signed Amrabat for his incredible engine and ability to dictate the tempo of the game.
