“We can get something out of it”- Thomas Frank sends message to Erik ten Hag ahead of the game at Old Trafford

Brentford manager Thomas Frank believes his side can get something out of the Manchester United game

Speaking in the pre-match presser as quoted by Manchester Evening News, Thomas Frank is unsure if this is the right time to face Manchester United or not. United have had the worst start to a season in 39 years and the situation at the club looks bleak.

Frank said ahead of the game on Saturday:

“There will be pressure to beat Brentford but Man United is a massive club, the pressure is there to win every game. I don’t think it makes a difference that they haven’t played that well. I am always in doubt when you meet a team with great form and momentum, whether it’s bad or will that run end? It’s a great club, great team, great manager and fantastic players. A big challenge but we look forward to it and we’ll go there believing we can get something out of it.”

With injuries mounting and inconsistent play, Erik ten Hag‘s side welcome Brentford to Old Trafford on Saturday. Frank is aware that United may be under more pressure to succeed, but he also understands the difficulties his team will face when they visit a venue where they haven’t triumphed since February 1937.

With only one Premier League victory this season, Brentford are currently experiencing their own losing streak. For a team that has frequently punched above its weight in the league, it looks like they have hit their ceiling.

The 3-2 Champions League loss to Galatasaray on Tuesday marked United’s sixth defeat in 10 games this season across all competitions, marking this their worst start to a season in 39 years.

Rasmus Hojlund gave the Reds the lead twice against the Turkish giants, but they managed to give up three preventable goals and now have a difficult road to get out of Group A as first or second.

United’s back four is shaky at the moment due to an injury crisis. On the other hand, Andre Onana has to be at his best after his costly pass in the Champions League led to a red card for Casemiro. This match against Brentford can be a turning point for Ten Hag’s team.
