Manchester United star Casemiro was targeted by Galatasaray players
According to the Metro, Okan Buruk’s Galatasaray players targeted Brazilian talisman Casemiro throughout the Champions League fixture between Manchester United and the Turkish side.
Manchester United once again lost at home as it marked the first time ever to go into the third week of the Champions League group stages without securing even a single point. Unfortunately, Casemiro will miss the game against Copenhagen due to his red card.
Buruk said after the game:
‘We wanted to put pressure on Casemiro in the midfield with (Lucas) Torreira.
Before the match, Okan Buruk said that his team would try to exploit the left-back position of our team. He knew that there was a major crisis at the full-back position and Amrabat was playing in an unnatural role to fill that void.
Amrabat has had games to forget but one can’t blame him when he is doing something for the team. He defended well at times but was mostly found wanting.
Casemiro is doing everything to help United win. The game against Galatasaray saw Casemiro creating a lot of chances. Even though he tried to avoid the penalty in the first place, his second challenge of the evening resulted in a very unlucky red card for him.
Now, that Casemiro is out for the next UCL clash against Copenhagen, Erik ten Hag might organise the squad in a different manner. It’s expected that Sergio Reguilon will come back after sustaining a minor knock, helping Amrabat play in his natural position as a defensive midfielder.

This is another reason why Amrabat was brought into the squad to increase the depth. Now, it remains to be seen how United cope with the challenge of having Casemiro out for a do-or-die Champions League fixture.
