Manchester United are preparing an opening bid of £43.3m for Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry.

Football365 (h/t Express) reports that Manchester United are preparing to make an opening offer of around £43.3m for Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry.

The Red Devils are looking to secure the German international as soon as in the coming January transfer window.

Manager Erik ten Hag‘s falling out with forward Jadon Sancho and the club granting Antony a leave of absence have left United with a shortage of options for the attacking right flank.

The English giants hope to secure Gnabry’s services quickly because Real Madrid, the La Liga giants, are also showing interest.

The 28-year-old has some experience in the English Premier League, having come from the Arsenal youth academy. Gnabry made only 18 appearances for the Gunners while contributing to one goal and two assists.

Tony Pulis barely used the German international during his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion. Gnabry has been careful in navigating his professional career as the German eventually found success and trophies at Bayern Munich.

The 28-year-old has appeared in 228 matches for the German giants, contributing 81 goals and 51 assists for the club.

United have inexperienced yet very talented players in Facundo Pellistri and Alejandro Garnacho who require game management for now.

Gnabry’s experience will come in very handy for the youngsters to hone their potential under his shadow.

The German is also eligible for the homegrown quota thanks to his development in the Arsenal academy. The Red Devils have bought foreign players with immense quality who were eligible for the homegrown quota. At the time they signed for the English giant, Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba were both in their prime years and eligible.

United need depth in the squad as they are also competing in the Champions League among other domestic cup competitions. The right attacking position is the most vulnerable area that needs recruitment and we believe Gnabry is the perfect candidate. The Red Devils are currently relying on a few players to provide goals and assists and Gnabry can help them in that department.
