Amadou Onana was almost sold to Manchester United this summer transfer window

According to the Times (h/t Manchester Evening News) it has come to light that Everton had made preparations to part ways with the highly sought-after talent, Amadou Onana, during this summer transfer window.

Toffees have reportedly been receptive to the idea of a potential transfer, provided they were presented with a suitable offer that would enable them to secure a substantial financial gain.

In a stunning transfer move last summer, Onana made his way to the illustrious Goodison Park for a staggering fee of £33m. The ambitious acquisition by Sean Dyche’s side was fueled by their aspirations of securing a substantial return on investment, with hopes of potentially doubling the initial sum from any interested parties.

Erik ten Hag is keen on bolstering his midfield options following the departure of the talented Fred, who made a move to Fenerbahce.

Recognizing the need to inject a dose of commanding presence into the team, he is leaving no stone unturned in his quest for a player who can dominate the heart of the pitch.

The Dutch tactician recognizes the importance of having ample depth in the middle of the park, as it is a crucial area of the pitch where battles for possession and control are often won or lost.
