Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has deleted the controversial “scapegoat” post
Jadon Sancho, the Manchester United forward, deleted his post from the social media platform X. In the post, he directly responded to United manager Erik ten Hag and asserted that the manager was using him as a “scapegoat.”
The 23-year-old directly responded to his manager after Ten Hag claimed in an interview that he had excluded him from the squad that faced Arsenal in their 3-1 loss at Emirates due to poor performance in training.
The public back-and-forth became a heated debate between the United fans and many famed football pundits alike. The English international future at the club has been in doubt ever since.
Saudi Arabia club Al-Ettifaq attempted to sign Sancho from United on a loan deal before their country’s deadline day. The deal fell when United demanded a £50m obligation-to-buy
United signed Sancho from German club Borussia Dortmund for £73m in the 2021 summer transfer window. The Englishman came with a massive reputation after making a total of 137 appearances for Dortmund, contributing 50 goals and 64 assists.
Sancho has so far failed to make a similar impact at Old Trafford, having appeared in 82 games so far. The 23-year-old’s sub-par performances only managed to help him score 12 goals and provide six assists.
United fans would hope that Sancho deleting his post is a positive sign that a productive conversation took place between the player and the manager. United are currently facing a crisis in the attacking positions with Antony also granted a leave of absence by the club.
We hope that Sancho can make his triumphant return and resurrect his career at Old Trafford. United would want to shift the focus back to football as they face Brighton and Hove Albion after the international break. Bayern Munich awaits United right after the Brighton game, which opens the Champions League campaign for this season.

Hopefully, Sancho is available to play a part in the upcoming games and the deletion of the post can be seen as a sign of progress. Perhaps there were positive discussions behind the scenes. It was a post that seemed to be made in the spur of the moment and the incident will certainly teach the former Borussia Dortmund winger a thing or two about maturity and patience, even if he feels he is being wronged by the manager.
