Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho makes decision on future amid interest from two clubs

According to Ben Jacobs on GiveMeSport via the Daily Express, Jadon Sancho, the Manchester United forward, has expressed his desire to continue playing for Manchester United despite a public spat with manager Erik ten Hag.

Sancho is set to have a meeting with Ten Hag with a clear intention to stay and fight for his place. Despite the intention of Sancho, some figures at the club are unsure whether he can convince the manager.

The United boss excluded the 23-year-old from the matchday squad against Arsenal at Emirates, which resulted in United’s 3-1 loss. Ten Hag explained the player’s exclusion after the game by pointing out Sancho’s poor training performances as the reason.

Sancho immediately responded through his social media platform, X, stating he has “been a scapegoat for a long time”.

Sancho joined United from Borussia Dortmund on 1st July 2021. He struggled to fulfil his potential at United, despite 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 appearances for Dortmund.

The Englishman has made 82 appearances for United so far, scoring 12 goals and providing 6 assists in total.

Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq attempted to take the English international on a loan deal. Unfortunately, United’s demand of a £50 million obligation to buy caused the deal to collapse.

United’s Champions League group-stage opponents, Bayern Munich, are also preparing a January move for the Englishman.

The Ten Hag-Sancho public spat has caused divisive opinions among the fans and pundits alike. The Red Devils manager cannot afford distractions as they are currently lying in the 11th position in the Premier League.
