Manchester United players turn against Jadon Sancho in support of their manager Erik ten Hag

The Manchester United dressing room has taken a stand in the midst of the dispute between manager Erik ten Hag and one of their own, Jadon Sancho.

The Dutch manager explained his reason for excluding Sancho when they played against Arsenal. The Red Devils lost the game 3-1. Ten Hag stated that Sancho’s exclusion was due to his poor performance in training during the week.

The English international responded through a social platform, X. The 23-year-old accused the manager of using him as a scapegoat for the team’s poor performance.

The Dutch manager is in the second season since he took over the club. During the last season, Ten Hag took disciplinary action against Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to the reports via the Express, the United dressing room did not like the reaction of Sancho. Sancho’s teammates completely agree with Ten Hag’s firm approach. The dressing room thinks there should not be any exception to the approach of the manager, regardless of their status within the squad.

United signed Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for £73 million. The English forward has struggled to live up to the expectations. Sancho has made 82 appearances for United so far while scoring 12 goals and providing six assists for the Red Devils.

Ten Hag included Sancho in his Champions League squad despite the public row between the manager and the player. However, Sancho was a target of the Saudi Arabian club Al Ettifaq.

United and Al Ettifaq discussed a loan deal but the deal fell through when United demanded an obligation to buy Sancho for £50 million at the end of the loan spell.

The United fans and many pundits are divided in this situation. Rest assured; everyone wants the situation to be settled soon. Ten Hag and Sancho will have a private discussion over the matter, according to the reports.

We hope that the discussion between both parties will be fruitful and this debacle will not cause any more distraction. United are currently 11th in the English Premier League table. The Champions League tournament will also commence after the international break. Every focus should be on improvement and return to form.

Sancho would want to put all of the issues behind him. The England international has a much higher ceiling in terms of potential. He would want to reach that as the peak years of his career draw closer. Time will tell whether he spends his peak years at Old Trafford or elsewhere.
