Former midfielder Fred confirms Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir’s move to ‘great team’ Manchester United
Former Manchester United midfielder Fred seems to have confirmed the transfer of Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce.
The Brazilian midfielder stated that the goalkeeper is moving to a ‘great team’. Bayindir is poised to be United’s fourth signing this summer.
Bayindir will serve as a replacement for Dean Henderson, who is expected to make a permanent move to Crystal Palace following a £20 million deal.

The Turkish star’s transfer has been in progress for a while, with initial medical tests conducted last week.
However, the player stayed for three days in Manchester as Henderson’s departure from United is being finalised. Ten Hag’s team is expected to proceed and complete the transfer this week.
Meanwhile, Fred recently joined Fenerbahce earlier this summer and made his debut for the club against Samsunspor last week.
Although he has only been Bayindir’s teammate for a few weeks, during his delayed unveiling press conference, the midfielder seemed to suggest that the goalkeeper’s departure from the club is imminent.
Talking to BeIN Sports (h/t Fabrizio Romano), Fred said:
“I wished Altay good luck when he left. He is going to join a great team. Altay will be very happy at Manchester United.”
According to transfer guru Romano, the overall transfer package for Bayindir is approximately £6m, with additional bonuses that could increase the total amount to that level.
In any case, it’s a cost-effective move for Man United, as they are replacing Henderson for a significantly smaller fee than the one they are receiving for him.

The 25-year-old is a huge presence in front of the goal, standing at 6 feet 6 inches tall, and he will aim to show his abilities whenever he has the opportunity to play in the starting XI.
The Turkish star is expected to serve as the backup goalkeeper behind Andre Onana at United. Bayindir is a modern goalkeeper who is comfortable passing from the back and can also deliver accurate long balls.
He possesses a strong aerial ability to claim high balls and is not hesitant to act as a sweeper-keeper when necessary. The Fenerbahce ace’s signing is likely to be a positive addition.
