Brentford value Ivan Toney at £100 million amidst Manchester United interest

Ivan Toney is valued at £100 million by Premier League rivals Brentford amidst interest from Manchester United, according to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News).

The Red Devils are one of the teams who have been linked with acquiring the striker’s signature from the Bees in the coming months. However, Tottenham Hotspur are also being associated with the England international.

However, to that end, interested parties will have to table a considerable bid to convince the West Bridgford-based club to part ways with the 27-year-old. The Gtech Community Stadium side are not expected to budge from their price tag.

But at the moment, Toney is out of action. The forward is suspended until the new year due to betting charges from the FA. Although, a January move could be on the cards for him.

Brentford signed the English national in the summer of 2020. Subsequently, since then, the striker has been their talisman and has consistently performed for them.

Toney proved his goalscoring prowess in the Premier League in the previous campaign. The forward made 33 appearances in the English top flight for the Bees, scoring 20 goals.

At United, Rasmus Hojlund has been added to the attack this summer. The Denmark international was arguably brought in to bolster the front line but has been on the sidelines since arriving.

Anthony Martial is the only other natural number nine at Erik ten Hag’s disposal. While the gaffer has experimented with playing Marcus Rashford up top, the English national has not looked comfortable as a striker.

Therefore, we could evidently do with a player like Toney in our ranks. However, Brentford’s valuation is arguably on the high end. Thus, it will be interesting to see what the Old Trafford side will decide.
