Inter Milan are closing on FC Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard who was linked with Manchester United
According to Manchester Evening News, as confirmed by Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta, Inter Milan are in talks with FC Bayern Munich over securing the services of Manchester United target Benjamin Pavard.
Pavard was linked with United recently but the deal was conditional over the sale of Harry Maguire to West Ham United, which broke down in the past few months.
Due to financial restrictions, United do not have the capacity to sign Pavard while keeping Magurie in the squad and this has alerted Inter who are now in talks with Bayern over the signing of the defender, as confirmed by Inter CEO Marotta.
“Pavard? Deal on. We are still negotiating with Bayern. The player’s will is crucial and he wants to join Inter. Bayern need a replacement to let him leave, this is the issue. But talks are ongoing.”
Another deal has slipped out of United’s hands after the player’s willingness to join as well. This is all down to the ownership and the uncertainty surrounding it.
Not only the transfers, but the ownership uncertainty is also playing a part in the team’s on-field performance as we have become worse than last season and there is something extremely worrying happening inside the club.
All players are playing before their top levels while the manager also suddenly seems to be out of solutions. The way the first two performances of the season have been, it looks like a big season ahead of us.
Instead of Pavard, we could sign Johnny Evans on a short-term contract which speaks highly of the restraints that Erik Ten Hag is also working under and that Maguire would not be leaving United anytime soon.

While July was a good month for the club in terms of transfers, August has been the complete opposite and hopefully, the club are able to make some quality additions before the transfer window closes.
