Manchester United have decided to sell Noah Emeran to Dutch outfit FC Groningen amid game-time concerns
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has shown his willingness to part ways with academy talents who could have better first-team opportunities elsewhere.
Since his arrival, the club has released players such as James Garner in his initial season, and recently, youngsters like Zidane Iqbal, Charlie Savage, and Anthony Elanga have also departed.
According to the Manchester Evening News, talented French attacker Noam Emeran is poised to join this list, as Dutch club FC Groningen appears to be on the verge of securing his signature.
The Red Devils have agreed to sell the 20-year-old star on a permanent transfer. Man United signed the winger in 2019 from Amiens SC.
Emeran made a positive impression during the early stages of pre-season, notably scoring a goal and providing an assist in a match against rival Leeds United.
Additionally, he featured in the final ten minutes of a friendly against La Liga team Athletic Bilbao and found the net during an exhibition game against Chester FC.
Ten Hag provided chances to Emeran in the pre-season, particularly because of his left-footed winger abilities, which also allowed him to play on the right wing.
Several clubs expressed interest in acquiring the services of this United Academy talent on loan. Anderlecht, RC Strasbourg, Coventry City, Sunderland, and Vitesse were all keeping an eye on the player.
However, Groningen have joined the competition to secure a permanent move for Emeran, and United believe that the youngster could get the best environment to develop at this club.
Although the exact sale price hasn’t been disclosed yet, United have included a sell-on clause in the deal. However, there is currently no information regarding the presence of a buy-back clause.
This summer, the Red Devils adopted a new strategy regarding their academy prospects.
Instead of simply loaning out players without considering permanent sales, the club has started selling them while ensuring that a sell-on clause is part of the agreement.
