Inter Milan prepared to pay Bayern Munich over €30 million for Manchester United target Benjamin Pavard
Serie A giants Inter Milan are prepared to pay more than €30 million to sign Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich amidst interest from Manchester United, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Nerazzurri are interested in acquiring the French national’s services in the ongoing transfer window. To that end, the Italian outfit have stepped up their pursuit for the right-back.
However, the versatile defender has also been on the radar of the Red Devils this summer. The Old Trafford side were looking to get a hold of his signature as a replacement for Harry Maguire.
West Ham United were being linked with a move for the former Leicester City star. But in the end, a deal for the 30-year-old failed to materialise. Now, it looks like a move to Man United for Pavard is off the table.
Although, it remains to be seen whether the Bavarians will part ways with the France international in the coming weeks. The Bundesliga giants need to find a replacement before giving the go-ahead for the 27-year-old’s move.
At the moment, Bayern have Noussair Mazraoui in their ranks. They also had Josip Stanisic on their books. However, the Croatian has joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan recently.
As for Inter, Simone Inzaghi has Matteo Darmian and Valentino Lazaro at his disposal right now. On the other hand, Man United have two decent players for the right-hand side of the defence in Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The former Crystal Palace star is currently the gaffer’s first choice. However, the Portugal international is no slouch and showcased his talent on a consistent basis at the start of last season.

Pavard can also play as a centre-back. But our backline has enough talent with Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire. Therefore, it will be interesting to see whether the Old Trafford side will challenge Inter in the pursuit of the 2018 World Cup winner.
