Benjamin Pavard asks Bayern Munich to facilitate Manchester United transfer
Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard has asked the Bundesliga giants to facilitate his transfer to Manchester United in the ongoing transfer window.
The France international is eager to join the Red Devils this summer. To that end, the right-back has informed the Bavarians about his desire to pursue a different chapter in his career.
Speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed the possibility of the 27-year-old making a switch to the Old Trafford side in the coming weeks. However, the Allianz Arena side are not keen on letting him go.
“Currently, Bayern are not keen on this move, but my feeling is that there is a chance for Pavard to join Man Utd because the player wants to go.
“Over the weekend and the last few days, Pavard has spoken to Bayern and told them he won’t extend his contract and wants to join Manchester United to try this opportunity. So, let’s see now what happens between the clubs.”
Bayern signed Pavard in the summer of 2019 from VfB Stuttgart. Over the years, the defender has been a key player for the Bundesliga giants in their success.
At the Allianz Arena side, the French national has won multiple league titles and has lifted the Champions League trophy. Therefore, it is encouraging to see a player of his pedigree wanting a move to United.
Pavard has showcased his versatility at the German outfit. Apart from playing on the right-hand side of the defence, the French national is also capable of playing as a centre-back.
At United, Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have been vying for a place as starters. The Portugal international was preferred initially in the starting lineup. But at the moment, the former Crystal Palace star seems to be ahead in the pecking order.
As for the central defenders, Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are already at the club’s disposal. Erik ten Hag can also call upon Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof for now.
