Ajax are preparing a loan offer to re-sign frustrated Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek
According to Sun (h/t Daily Mail), Ajax are looking to re-sign Donny van de Beek to give him a break from a frustrating time at Manchester United.
The Dutch giants are preparing a loan offer to get their player back. Although United would prefer a permanent deal, the buying club does not have the finances to do that this summer.
Van de Beek’s career since signing for the Red Devils has nose-dived to an extent. He signed for the club in 2020 from Ajax and has only made 60 appearances in all competitions so far. Most of those appearances were off the ball bench because he has played for only 2131 minutes.
The 26-year-old had a loan spell at Everton for the second half of the 2021/22 season. Unfortunately, his time there wasn’t full of good performances or consistency. In fact, he only made seven appearances for the Toffees in that time.
Van de Beek is an all-action midfielder who can operate as a number eight, a number 10 or in a deep-lying pivot role.
He is good on the ball, can impact games in both boxes and has a goal or two in him. Despite successfully working with him at Ajax, it seems like the Dutchman won’t be getting much game time from Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
So, it would make sense for all parties to separate ways soon. Spanish side Real Sociedad ruled out their interest in signing the 26-year-old very recently because they are focused on signing Arsen Zakharyan from Dynamo Moscow.

At times, when things do not go well abroad, it is the best idea to return to your home country and start fresh. Maybe, just maybe, van de Beek needs and should go on loan to Ajax to improve himself before potentially claiming a place in the United squad.
