Bayern Munich set to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker and Manchester United target Harry Kane
Manchester United target Harry Kane has agreed to join Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in the ongoing transfer window, according to The Athletic (Subscription Required) [h/t Metro].
Spurs have accepted a €120 million package deal from the Bavarians to part ways with their talisman this summer, as per Bild. Initially, there were certain doubts regarding the 30-year-old making his way to Germany.
However, the England international has approved the move. He will sign a four-year contract at the Bundesliga giants and the medical is set to take place soon.
It looks like Bayern have pipped the Red Devils to the signing of Kane. The Old Trafford side were interested in acquiring the English national’s services in the ongoing transfer window. However, the Manchester-based club opted against it due to the costs involved.
Subsequently, United have signed Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta for almost €85 million, including add-ons. Therefore, Bayerns outlay on Kane does not seem a lot considering what we paid for the Denmark international.
The English skipper has been one of the best players in the world for some time now. Over the years, he has carried Tottenham’s attack. Although, the striker has not been able to get his hands on any silverware at Spurs.
Now, Kane is potentially going to a team where trophies are guaranteed almost every year. Bayern have won the league title for 10 years in a row now. They sold Robert Lewandowski last summer and have parted ways with Sadio Mane as well recently.

Kane leaving Tottenham is a good thing for United since it will arguably make the North London side weaker. But could we have tried harder to get a hold of the English skipper’s signature? It evidently does not matter now.
