Sofyan Amrabat leaves door open to Fiorentina stay amidst Manchester United interest
Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat has left the door open regarding staying put at Fiorentina in the ongoing transfer window.
The Red Devils are interested in acquiring the services of the Morocco international this summer. To that end, the Old Trafford side have been in talks with the midfielder. The club want the 26-year-old but are yet to present a formal offer to the Viola.
Speaking to the media via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Amrabat is unsure where his future will lie in the coming weeks. The midfielder has not ruled out continuing at the Florence-based club next season.
“I don’t know if I’m leaving… maybe I can stay here at Fiorentina.”
Fiorentina signed the Moroccan in 2020 from Hellas Verona. Since then, he has been a key player for the Italian outfit but has only popped up on a lot of people’s radar recently.
Amrabat put in some impressive displays in the 2022 World Cup. In Qatar, he was pivotal to Walid Regragui’s team as they made it to the semi-finals.
The midfielder also made it to the finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League final last season. However, West Ham beat the 26-year-old’s team to the title.
In the previous campaign, Casemiro was Erik ten Hag’s go-to in the number six position. The Brazil international showcased his quality and made us more robust in the middle of the park.
However, we seemingly lack adequate cover for the former Real Madrid star in the squad. In the previous campaign, the likes of Fred, Scott McTominay and Marcel Sabitzer played in the absence of the 31-year-old but were unable to make a mark.

Amrabat would arguably add quality in depth to the holding midfield position. However, whether the Red Devils will be able to get a deal over the line for him remains to be seen.
