Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag wants Facundo Pellistri to join his former club this summer
According to ESPN journalist Tijmen van Wissing (h/t the Manchester Evening News), FC Twente are eager to secure the loan signing of Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri this summer.
The Dutch club is facing a shortage of wingers in their squad after losing Virgil Misidjan and Vaclav Cerny this summer.
Consequently, they are actively seeking new signings, and journalist Van Wissing has disclosed that they are particularly interested in bringing in United winger Pellistri on loan.

While Twente are eagerly waiting to secure the Uruguay international, there is also interest from Boca Juniors for the player’s services.
United manager Erik ten Hag has provided advice to the 21-year-old, suggesting a loan move to Twente. Despite interest from clubs, there has been no official indication from the player’s side.
The former Peñarol winger joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2020. After an 18-month loan spell with Alaves, where he struggled to make an impact, he has now displayed glimpses of his potential in the preseason games.
Pellistri has progressed to becoming a regular starter for Uruguay’s national team. However, given the strong competition for places at the club, the emerging talent may not be guaranteed regular playing time.
Ten Hag has a deep connection with Dutch football, having played for Twente during his playing career and also serving as their assistant manager when they won the Eredivisie title in 2009/10.

A transfer to Twente could be highly beneficial for Pellistri‘s growth as a player. It would provide him with ample playing time and opportunities to become a more consistent and effective attacker.
Throughout the past year, the youngster has displayed flashes of his talent, but now he requires a successful loan spell with regular goal contributions to make a strong impression on Ten Hag.
