Napoli expected to turn down €140 million Al Hilal offer for Manchester United target Victor Osimhen
Al Hilal have made an offer worth €140 million for Napoli star Victor Osimhen amidst interest from Manchester United, according to Sky Sports chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol via Football Daily on Twitter (h/t Manchester Evening News).
However, the Partenopei are expected to turn down the offer. The Serie A champions are holding out for €150 million to part ways with the Nigeria international.
The Red Devils have the 24-year-old on their shortlist to bolster the attack in the ongoing transfer window. But the Italian outfit’s valuation discouraged the Old Trafford side from making a move for the striker.
Now, Al Hilal are looking to acquire his services. The Saudi Pro League has seen an abundance of talent arrive over the last six months, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez now playing for teams in the Middle Eastern country.
Osimhen is one of the best forwards in the world at the moment. He fired Napoli to the league title after their 33-year drought. The striker scored 26 goals in 32 Serie A matches last season.
Having signed for the Naples-based club in the summer of 2020 from LOSC Lille, the Nigerian has developed into a quality number nine over the years.
At United, the striking department lacks quality and depth. Anthony Martial is the only natural option at Erik ten Hag’s disposal to deploy up front. Unfortunately, the French national has been injury prone in the last few months.
During pre-season, the gaffer has been experimenting with playing Jadon Sancho as the number nine. In the previous campaign, Marcus Rashford also played as a striker on a number of occasions.

We evidently need to add a prolific forward like Osimhen to our ranks. He will arguably make us a more threatening side. However, whether Al Hilal will be able to secure his signature in the coming weeks remains to be seen.
