Borussia Dortmund boss dismisses Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho rumours
Edin Terzic, the manager of Borussia Dortmund, has dismissed talks regarding a move for Manchester United star Jadon Sancho this summer.
The English national started in the number nine position against the Bundesliga giants during the last pre-season friendly in the United States of America. On 31 July, the Old Trafford side took on the German outfit and lost 3-2.
Diogo Dalot gave us the lead before Donyell Malen put Dortmund in front before the break. While Antony managed to equalise early in the second half, Youssoufa Moukoko fired BVB ahead once again.
Sancho has been linked with a return to the Signal Iduna Park side in the ongoing transfer window. Speaking after their win via Manchester Evening News, Terzic seemed to rule out a move for the 23-year-old.
“He’s a fantastic lad but he’s signed to Man United now and we don’t comment on players who are signed to other clubs. We were happy to see him, he was happy to see us and we wish him all the best for the coming season at Man United.”
United signed the forward in the summer of 2021 from Dortmund. In Germany, the English national was one of the best young prospects in football. But he has seen his pedigree dip in Manchester.
After an underwhelming debut season at the Old Trafford side, Sancho struggled in Erik ten Hag’s first year in charge of the Red Devils as well. He made 41 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing three assists.
While the Dutch manager called upon the forward on several occasions, he often put in inconsistent and rather indifferent displays. The English national failed to cement a starting place in the 2022/23 term.
Marcus Rashford and Antony are the two wingers Ten Hag preferred in the team last season. Alejandro Garnacho has also broken into the first team and put in some clutch displays in the previous campaign.

However, it would be wise to keep a hold of Sancho this summer. We have sold Anthony Elanga recently and Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo could also depart on loan in the coming weeks. It remains to be seen what position the gaffer will prefer to deploy the English national in next season.
