Tottenham Hotspur consider Manchester United target Randal Kolo Muani as Harry Kane replacement
Manchester United target Randal Kolo Muani has emerged as an option for Tottenham Hotspur if they lose Harry Kane, according to RMC Sport (h/t Express).
The England international is in the final year of his current contract at the North London side. As things stand, Bayern Munich are pursuing the striker and have had two bids rejected for him.
Daniel Levy wants around £100 million for the 29-year-old. However, the Bavarians are confident of striking a deal with Spurs for him in the coming weeks.
If Kane were to leave, Tottenham have Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kolo Muani on their radar as his successor. United are also eyeing the 24-year-old. But Die Adler’s £70 million has put off potential suitors.
However, if Spurs were to cash in on their 29-year-old talisman, they would seemingly have the funds to spend on the France international. That would evidently pose a threat to the Old Trafford side.
Kolo Muani is one of the most promising number nines in football at the moment. The forward shone for Eintracht last season and has broken into Didier Deschamps’ team, putting on some impressive performances at the 2022 World Cup.
Tottenham have relied on Kane for several years now to deliver goals. Without the English skipper, the North London side will not be as threatening up front. On the other hand, Erik ten Hag could arguably do with addition in the attack.
In the 2022/23 term, the gaffer had to rely on Marcus Rashford to find the back of the net on a consistent basis. The Dutch manager was unable to count on Anthony Martial due to his fitness issues in the previous campaign.
