Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat is a subject of interest for Liverpool
As per the Athletic (subscription required), Liverpool are interested in signing Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat this summer.
Liverpool are set to lose Fabinho in this window as a bid from Saudi side Al-Ittihad will be accepted by them.
They can also lose their captain Jordan Henderson, who has agreed a deal with fellow Saudi club Al-Ettifaq. The transfer fee is yet to be agreed on that front.
So, one can understand why the Reds have gone into desperation mode right in the middle of the transfer window.
They have kept Amrabat as one of the midfield players they can sign to replace Fabinho. The Moroccan international has been a United target this summer too.
A couple of days ago, the Independent revealed that any chance to sign the Fiorentina defender will depend on how United sell players.
It was also mentioned that West Ham United may bid for Scott McTominay to replace the departed Declan Rice. What that would mean is that Erik ten Hag could use the McTominay sale money to sign Amrabat.
Former United striker Louis Saha believes that the club should sign the 26-year-old as he would bring balance to the squad.
The Moroccan is a highly-talented defensive midfielder who is adept at winning possession, passing the ball with great range and is good at tackles.
He can either form a good partnership with Casemiro, allowing the likes of Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes to float in front of them, or play as a lone number six holding the midfield together.
