PSG ‘leading’ Manchester United in the race for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are ‘leading’ Manchester United in the race for Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani, according to the Independent.
The Parisians’ pursuit of the 24-year-old does not depend on the future of Kylian Mbappe. Regardless of where the AS Monaco star will end up this summer, the Parc des Princes side are looking to get a number nine.
To that end, Kolo Muani is seen as the ideal target in the ongoing transfer window. The Ligue 1 outfit have managed to convince the French national to move back home this summer.
Apart from PSG and the Red Devils, Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur have also had the striker on their radar. Eintracht are expected to accept £80 million to part ways with the 24-year-old.
Luis Enrique has been recently appointed the manager of the Parisians. While the former Spain head coach has Neymar and Mbappe at his disposal for now, Lionel Messi is no longer at the Parc des Princes side and has left with him a void up front.
Kolo Muani broke onto the scene last season after an impressive campaign at Die Adler. The French national was also part of Didier Deschamps’ squad as Les Bleus made it to the 2022 World Cup final.
At United, Erik ten Hag does not have an abundance of options at his disposal for the number nine position. Anthony Martial has been injury-prone over the last few months.
In the previous campaign, the gaffer had to rely on Marcus Rashford on a number of occasions to lead the line. Thankfully, the England international was able to carry our attack.

However, we cannot rely on the 25-year-old to bail us out week in, week out. Thus, we evidently need more firepower up front. But it does not look like Kolo Muani will be the one to solve the Old Trafford side’s issues.
